Attendance specialist
Mrs. Bailey has been a Panther since 2023, but she has a long history with our school. Her daughter Wynter was in the Panther Class of 2017, and Scarlett previously worked for us as a substitute teacher and as the attendance specialist during the 2016-17 school year. Mrs. Bailey's husband, Chris, can be seen on WKYT Channel 27 as our popular local meteorologist! Mrs. Bailey is from Ashland, KY.

Associate principal
Mrs. Church has been a Panther since 2016. She joined the staff as the achievement and compliance coach, overseeing all ARC meetings, and coaching staff on best practices and instructional strategies. Prior to becoming a Panther, Mrs. Church worked in Atlanta, GA in public relations, before joining Southern Middle School as an exceptional child educator. At Hayes, she oversees the special education and math departments, and leads 7th grade management, schoolwide data analysis, instructional coaches and the school's intervention systems. Mrs. Church has three girls, Emerson, Madison and Vivian. She is originally from New Orleans, LA.

Mrs. Cornett has been a Panther since 2021. She is a graduate of the University of Kentucky, and has spent over 20 years in the dental industry, both as a dental hygienist and a business manager. Mrs. Cornett is from Hazard, KY.

Dean of students and digital learning coach
Mr. Hall has been a Panther since 2006. Beginning his career at EJH, Mr. Hall previously taught sixth and seventh grade math, as well as math intervention. He served as head volleyball and boys' basketball coach, winning district championships in both sports. Mr. Hall and his wife LeAnn, 8th grade Panthers, are the parents of Mark and Samuel. Mr. Hall is from Cumberland, KY.

Safety resource officer
Officer Holland is a veteran of the United States Army. He served for eight years and has deployed to Iraq. He is a retired detective from Lexington Police. During his time with Lexington Police, he spent several years on patrol, where he was a field training officer, and a member of the honor guard for several years. He was last assigned to the Auto Crimes Unit. He is a graduate of Midway University with a bachelor’s in business management and a graduate of Tiffin University with a master's degree in public policy and administration. He has two young boys, operates a small family farm, and volunteers with 4-H. Originally from Fostoria, Ohio near Toledo.

Principal
Mr. Hyde began his career with FCPS as a math instructor at Hayes, teaching here from 2012 to 2017 and again from 2019 to 2022. He also taught at Crawford Middle and Shelby County High School. In 2022, Hyde moved to Bryan Station High Middle, serving as administrative dean and then assistant principal. There he was instrumental in instructional coaching and implementing PBIS initiatives. At Hayes, Mr. Hyde oversees the language arts, science, world language and biomedical sciences programs, as well as 6th grade management, budget and finance and SBDM. Mr. Hyde is married to Lauren Hyde, who also an educator, and together they have two girls, Ellison and Leighton. He is originally from Michigan.

Professional growth and effectiveness coach
Mrs. Moore has been a Panther since 2016. Prior to joining EJH, she worked as a psychologist for Comprehensive Care, then as a exceptional child educator in Woodford Co. In 2016, she joined the ECE department at EJH, then was named the ECE counselor in 2020. Her role changed to instructional coach in 2022 where she manages the school's intervention systems and provides support to the school's co-teaching and continuous classroom improvement initiatives. Mrs. Moore is from Louisville, KY.

Mr. Sherrard has been a Panther since 2004. A member of the inaugural EJH faculty, Mr. Sherrard is a former sixth grade social studies teacher, and has served our school as head volleyball coach, track coach, team leader, and department chair. In addition he has served on the SBDM council. Mr. Sherrard oversees the social studies, humanities and CTE departments, as well as eight grade management, custodians, discipline, and athletics. Prior to EJH, he taught and coached at Bryan Station Middle School. Mr. Sherrard is from Flaherty, KY.

Achievement and compliance coach
Mrs. Straub has been a Panther since 2013. Formerly, she served as an exceptional child educator, head dance coach, and department chair. In 2021, she was named the new achievement and compliance coach. She also serves as an instructional coach for our co-teaching and continuous classroom improvement initiatives. Mrs. Straub is from Louisville, KY and has two children, Cooper and Eleanor.
