Sixth Grade Course Description: Technology Competency
Course Description
The course will teach students skills to use the digital tools that they present with their Chromebooks. Along with Internet Safety, a Responsible Digital FootPrint, On-line research techniques, and a brief introduction to coding onpages 466-471 here.

Thinking Skills
- Appropriate terminology, proper keyboarding, computer operations and applications assist to gain confidence in the use of technology.
- Technology (e.g. keyboarding, word processing, spreadsheets, databases, hardware, scanners, digital and video cameras) is used effectively and efficiently to accomplish a task.
- Technology is used to communicate in a variety of ways.
- Productivity tools are used effectively and efficiently to accomplish a task.
Social Skills
- Use appropriate behavior related to computers, networks, digital information (e.g., security, privacy, passwords, personal information)
- Use proper social etiquette with any technology (e.g., email, blogs, IM, telephone, help desk) while collaborating with peers, experts and others

Seventh Grade Course Description: Google Certification
Course Description
The course will expand on the 6th grade course by teaching the MicroSoft Office Suite; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher. Along with Internet Safety, Digital FootPrint, On-Line research and a more involved section on coding. In addition, the course will prepare students to take the Google Classroom G-Suite student certification.
This course is 18-weeks in length.
