Course Sequence Goal
By the end of the Computer Keyboarding course, students in 6th grade who demonstrate 30 words per minute will earn a certificate showing their keyboarding competency.
By the end of the 8th grade Financial Liateray course, students can earn certification in Financial Literacy upon successful completion of the certification test on foundationsu.com.
Sixth Grade Course Description: Computer Keyboarding
Course Description
Students in this class will learn how to master the alphanumeric keyboard using the QWERTY keyboard. It’s vital that all students have the necessary computer/technology and keyboarding skills to be proficient employees in the workplace. Students will follow a traditional keyboarding curriculum that is designed for middle and high school students. The curriculum is current, constantly updated and uniquely designed to meet the interests of today’s teens, making the typing experience fun and engaging for the students.

Seventh Grade Course Description: Introduction to Business
Course Description
Students in the Introduction to Business class will provide an introduction to curriculum that will allow students to evaluate if they have an interest in classes in the Professional Services field. Students will receive the Dave Ramsey, “Foundations in Personal Finance” middle school curriculum. Financial Literacy will provide knowledge for their personal economic well-being and will help students by providing them with the knowledge, skills and awareness needed to establish a foundation for a future of financial responsibility and economic independence. Unit’s students will be introduced include; Savings & Budgeting, Credit & Debt, Education, Careers & Entrepreneurship, and finally Global Economics.

Eighth Grade Course Description: Financial Literacy
Course Description
Students in this class will undergo a comprehensive implementation of Financial Literacy and will have the skills needed to make smart decisions with their money. The curriculum used will be the Dave Ramsey, “Foundations in Personal Finance” high school curriculum and will be integrated online so the students will have access to its content at home as well.
Unit’s students will be introduced to will include; Introduction to Personal Finance, Saving, Budgeting, Debt, Life After High School, Consumer Awareness, Bargain Shopping, Investing and Retirement, Insurance, Money and Relationships, Careers and Taxes, Giving, and Global Economics.
