Qualifications

• 90th percentile on 5th grade MAP
• 80% or higher on Math component of ALP test
• 235 Fall 6th grade MAP

Pre-requisite:  Completion of sixth grade core mathematics with a B average or higher 

• 6th grade common core math end of course assessment score of 85% or higher
• 6th grade MAP score of 235 or higher
• 80% or higher average of end of unit assessments, prior to retakes

This course is an open enrollment class for students who would like the opportunity to be exposed to Algebra 1 content prior to high school.  Enrollment in this course does not guarantee placement in Geometry in 9th grade.  Typically, students who are able to score a 235 on MAP, have an A/B in 7th grade core mathematics, and possess a strong work ethic are most successful.

Pre-requisite:  Completion of sixth grade or seventh grade accelerated math with a B average or higher 

• 6th grade accelerated math end of course assessment score of 80% or higher
• 6th grade MAP score of 240 or higher
• 80% or higher average of end of unit assessments, prior to retakes

Pre-requisite:  Completion of Algebra I with a B average or higher

• 7th grade Algebra I end of course assessment score of 80% or higher
• 7th grade MAP score of 245 or higher
• 80% or higher average of end of unit assessments, prior to retakes
