🔹 April Deener (8th Grade Social Studies) exemplifies excellence in education and is a well-deserving nominee for Fayette County Public Schools’ Teacher of the Year. Her unwavering dedication to student success shines through her high-quality instruction, leadership in student-centered planning, and commitment to fostering Unity, Belonging, and Student Efficacy. Beyond the classroom, she runs the largest Dance Blue middle school event in the state, raising thousands for pediatric cancer, leads a nationally recognized Beta Club, and strengthens community ties through her work with the Kentucky Youth Assembly. From coaching boys lacrosse to organizing staff events, her impact is truly inspiring!

🔹 Scarlett Bailey (Attendance Clerk) is the heart of EJ Hayes. 💙 She is hard-working, patient, and kind, greeting every student, staff member, and visitor with warmth and positivity. As the first face people see when they enter our building, she creates an atmosphere where everyone feels safe, supported, and valued. Scarlett goes above and beyond to solve problems and ensure others have what they need—she is truly sunshine always! ☀️
