Edythe J. Hayes Achieves Record-High MAP Scores

We are excited to share outstanding news from this year’s MAP testing results. Our students continue to set the bar for academic excellence, earning historic achievement levels in both reading and math.

• Reading Proficient/Distinguished: 70.97% — our highest reading performance since the COVID pandemic.

• Math Proficient/Distinguished: 71.34% — the highest math proficiency in Edythe J. Hayes Middle School history.

Over the past two years, Edythe J. Hayes has strategically implemented Continuous Classroom Improvement (CCI) learning systems and co-teaching best practices to strengthen instruction, collaboration, and student engagement. These efforts have resulted in significant growth for our African American and special education students, with increases ranging from 10% to 20% in both reading and math proficiency levels over the last three years.

These results are a direct reflection of the hard work and dedication of our students, staff, and families. Thanks to our data-driven approach, strong instructional practices, and commitment to meeting the needs of every learner, Edythe J. Hayes remains the top-performing traditional middle school in Fayette County Public Schools.
