Hayes Middle School Celebrates a Successful International Day

Hayes Middle School Celebrates a Successful International Day

Last week, the Edythe J. Hayes Middle School gym transformed into a vibrant celebration of global culture. Our annual International Day event  brought together students, families, and staff to honor the diverse heritages that define our school community, with an impressive 25 countries represented throughout the festivities.

The event featured a brilliant array of:

  • Sights & Sounds: Traditional dress, music, and breathtaking dance and song performances
  • Global Flavors: Authentic dishes shared by Hayes families
  • Interactive Learning: Student-led booths showcasing history and artifacts from around the world

A Showcase of Talent

The stage came alive with the spirit of our global community. Attendees were treated to incredible dance performances representing the rich traditions of Nepal, the Philippines, Kenya, and Nigeria. The talent didn't stop there; the air was filled with music as gifted singers performed beautiful renditions of songs by Filipino artists, highlighting the deep cultural pride within our halls.

Building a Stronger Community

International Day is more than an event; it’s an opportunity to spark curiosity and foster genuine connections. By sharing their traditions from across 25 different nations, participants helped students build a deeper understanding of the world and their peers.
