Meeting schedule
The art club is a weekly group that explores various art concepts, as well as constructs art projects around the school. The art club has produced several school murals, designed art projects for the courtyard, and continues to explore ways to beautify the school grounds. In addition, club members may individually enter local and state art contests and receive individualized help from the art teacher.
In the '24-'25 school year, the Edythe J. Hayes Middle School Art Club made its mark—across our community, our state, and even around the world.
Our talented student artists showcased their work in prestigious venues including the Kentucky Capitol Building, Headley-Whitney Museum, Pam Miller Downtown Arts Center, and the Living Arts and Science Center. Their creativity impressed audiences far and wide!
In the spirit of global citizenship, Art Club also participated in the Memory Project, painting heartfelt portraits of children living in poverty around the world. Through this project, our students used their artistic talents to bring joy, raise awareness, and support important humanitarian work.
Closer to home, members collaborated to paint a school mural and create a stunning large-scale collage, proving that art not only decorates walls—but also builds community, inspires connection, and empowers young voices.
At EJ Hayes, Art Club isn’t just about making art—it’s about making a difference.
