The Kentucky Department of Education’s Student Technology Leadership Program (STLP) uses project-based learning principles to empower student learning and achievement through the utilization (and creation) of technology to solve school and community needs. STLP provides a means for student to design, make, connect and learn.
Student products, projects, and services are showcased through local, regional, and state events. The “Big 3” events include Regionals, DPOJ, and STLP State Championship.- From KDE

A few STLP highlights from 2024-25:
Hayes STLP attended the State competition at Rupp Arena. Students competed in Sumobots, Sphero Hero, Tech Bowl and Video Game design. Also, Harper R & Caroline S brought home 2nd place in the State for their documentary about our school.
2023 STLP State Competition: Addison Oldham and Avani Shah won "Best in Level 2 projects" for digital Chromebook Loaning Station.
2023 STLP SPARK Competition: 1st place in Sumobots Battle Competition, 1st & 2nd place in Drone Spy Mission.
